

Dave
Vesely has a MS in Forest Science from Oregon State University. Dave
originally specialized in studying forestry-wildlife interactions, but now
consults on a broad range issues that include conservation planning, monitoring
biodiversity, forest certification audits, and modeling/mapping wildlife
habitats. Dave is a member of The Wildlife Society and the Society of
Conservation Biology.
Chilko
is five year-old Belgian sheepdog trained to find nests of Northwestern
pond turtles. Dave is presently preparing an experimental study of Chilko's
reliability and efficiency as a wildlife detector dog.
PWRI was founded by Dave Vesely in 1998. The firm was originally headquartered in downtown Corvallis and employed 3 full-time MS and PhD level ecologists. Since 2004, Dave has been working independently, but maintains PWRI as fully insured, registered corporation that can be quickly scaled up to employ as many analysts and technicians as needed for any project.
